Our journey began three years ago when we decided to purchase our first St. Bernard puppy. My husband and I had been thinking about how to make an investment that would benefit our oldest son, who was nine years old at the time!
When my husband was a twelve-year-old boy, his farmer-father gave him the option of buying an animal of his choice. My husband chose a Holstein-heifer calf, and that one decision helped him to build both a new sense of responsibility plus a new business.
We don't live on a farm, so cows weren't an option for us, but a dog was. In June of 2019, Eppy, our female St. Bernard, joined the family. She is gentle with the younger members of our family. She is a beautiful, long-haired St. Bernard.
In September of 2021 Barnabas joined the family. He immediately brought a lot of life and interesting moments into our household. From posing for pictures to learning how to "give fives" for a treat.
On October 24th, Eppy had her first litter of puppies. It was amazing to watch her have and care for her babies. Likewise, it has been encouraging to see our son take such good care of the dogs and the puppies.
